Noda Report

Author: NOEL G.RIGG

Carlinghow Theatre Company have established a strong tradition of excellent pantomimes and this one was right up there with the very best. The show was well costumed with very good sound and lighting along with some very imaginative clever back cloth projections especially in the cave scene with Abanazer looking down from one corner. The casting was very strong in all the roles Chris Hall (Abanazer) was in superb form one of the best I have ever seen. Olivia Griffin was an outstanding Aladdin she sang danced and acted with lovely stage confidence and was well supported by Georgia Rigg (Princess Jasmine) she also had a very likeable stage presence. Gareth Jones (Frankie Twankey) the Dame role supplied much humour along with Patrick Stephen (Wishee Washee) who gave a most energetic performance. No pantomime would be complete without the dancers and this one certainly had both young and older ones all wonderfully trained and choreographed. The other cast members maintained the high standard of the show but perhaps a mention of Camella the dancing camel which must be a first.
